Welcome to NJIT's GradSWE!
The graduate section of Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at NJIT aims to support the professional and personal development of the female graduate students (either M.S. or Ph.D. candidates) at NJIT. The issues that SWE intends to address include work-life balance for women, scholarship and funding opportunities, finding an academic or industry path based on mentoring programs and collaborations with university as well as industry representatives, etc. This section also focuses on facilitating mentoring the transition of undergraduate students towards graduate school. For this goal, the graduate section of SWE works closely with the undergraduate section at NJIT.
The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) SWE collegiate section is a dynamic organization,
dedicated to creating a bridge between students and professional opportunities. Our focus is to honor SWE's
vision in advancing young women in their career as engineers and leaders by expanding the image of
engineering profession, and demonstrating the value of diversity in the work place. NJIT's section of SWE is a great opportunity for students to be more involved on campus, to gain professional connections and skills, to network, and much more!
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.
